During the night, Moscow's aerial assaults have led to blackouts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were injured while residents in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and faced disruption to drinking water, according to municipal leaders.

At the same time, a young boy was killed in a separate Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, as reported by local officials.

Russian forces has increased strikes on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while officials has called for "real steps" from international partners to exert influence on Russia.

"The necessity is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the United States, the EU and the G7 - in supplying defensive weapons and applying restrictions," was stated in a online statement.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 projectiles targeted energy facilities, describing such strikes as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

Government representatives said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were striving to fix the damage.

A series of attacks hit power facilities and residential structures in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people injured in the assaults on the capital have been transported for medical care, per statements from local officials.

Area administrators said the metropolitan region came under significant strikes throughout the evening. A minor died and three other people were hurt.

The strikes succeed periods of bombing campaigns in the area, parts of which are occupied by Russian forces.

The entire country is under warning for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are tougher to spot.

National leaders told reporters that Russia was purposely seeking to damage the national power system, with assaults already impacting gas facilities.

Officials stated technical personnel and authorities were preparing for further attacks.
