Renowned Actor The actor Pat Finn, Known For Parts in Friends and The Middle, Has Died at 60 Years Old.
Stateside performer Pat Finn, who appeared in iconic television series including Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has succumbed at the age of 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer died at home in Los Angeles recently having undergone treatment for cancer beginning in 2022, according to media reports.
"Pat never met a stranger - solely future friends he hadn't encountered," his relatives said in a message.
They noted that he had "embraced life completely - with happiness and energy".
An Extensive TV Career
His initial on-screen part was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he portrayed the titular character's brother.
He subsequently landed a repeating character on "Murphy Brown" in the latter half of the 1990s.
He appeared as a party host named Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, depicting a party host known to delegate unpleasant chores to his guests.
Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, he made guest appearances on numerous hit series, such as:
- King of Queens
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- House
He was most recognized for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight seasons between 2011 and 2018.
His film credits are "It's Complicated" and "Santa Paws 2".
Off-Screen Life
Beyond his acting parts, Finn was a skilled improviser and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.
He was a member of a six-person improv troupe named "Beer Shark Mice".
"Pat taught, supported, and inspired countless students during his career and it's nearly impossible to find anyone anywhere who has anything negative to say about him," his family wrote.
In a tribute, colleague and actor Richard Kind noted there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, making those around him better and funnier. A wonderful father and man," he shared on social media.
Finn is remembered by his spouse Donna, his three kids, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
