Week six of the 2025 NFL season

Live coverage features live text of Sunday's games on multiple platforms, beginning with Denver Broncos v New York Jets in London (from 14:00 BST). Additionally, radio commentary can be heard on designated networks covering a separate game (from 21:00 BST).

We're in the sixth week of the NFL season and after recent discussion regarding the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles as a potential Super Bowl match-up, they both surrendered their perfect starts.

Notable during those contests were the number of infractions both committed. Philadelphia did so in key moments meaning they essentially beat themselves having led by two touchdowns entering the final quarter against Denver, set to play in London this Sunday.

But it was good to see that Denver quarterback the rookie was able to have the shortfall before lead three scoring drives on three possessions during the final period, securing the game 21-17.

Denver have the top defender in cornerback their star corner. They rank first in red zone defence, while the Eagles lead the league in red zone offence, yet Denver won that contest.

They executed effective strategies in terms of simulated pressure. They weren't always rushing more than four defenders but they might position two LBs in the 'A' gap before withdrawing them and dispatch a slot defender from the outside.

Early on in the campaign, we said on a program that Denver might emerge as the current year's dark horses. They finished last season well and did a good job of building upon that.

Are the Denver Broncos this season's underdog story?

New tight end their tight end has stepped up significantly and recent running back JK Dobbins is a guy they believe in. He's currently 5th in the NFL in ground gains (over 400) and tied-fourth in rushing scores (four).

I love that the coach Sean Payton has "RUSH!" at the top of his playcall sheet.

This demonstrates that Denver represent a team aiming to run first, since one can achieve much off the back of that. It reduces down the pass rush and maintains in favourable situations.

This has helped quarterback the young passer, who came the NFL as the 12th overall draft pick in the prior draft, passing for 29 TDs – second only to a star QB in rookie records (31 in 2020).

Other elite QBs have the arm strength to pass anywhere, however they lack the mobility as Nix. He boasts incredible arm talent, a unique trait, and he's so athletic.

His strengths include his movement, being able to throw while moving, as well as using different arm angles to make the pass as he moves outside protection, the bootlegs. He can deliver that layered pass across the middle and over the corner.

As a rookie QB, aged 25, he's got a lot of composure in the pocket and is not really fazed by extra rushers. He aims to avoid being tackled whenever possible and is able throw under pressure. He has a high football IQ and is very decisive.

If you constantly run the ball it consumes the clock and makes the opponent to be in play for longer, and when you've got an athletic quarterback the defence must cover the area vertically side to side. It can be draining.

The quarterback has pushed back at Payton on the sideline sometimes and I think the coach likes that fire, that he's such a competitor. In my view it's fun for him to coach a young quarterback who's similar to moldable clay. He can really build something up how he desires to shape him. I believe it's a special experience for the coach.

The head coach has won a Super Bowl and has surpassed Bill Parcells in all-time victories (173 - tied 14th overall). He has witnessed everything. In my opinion the success Denver are having on offence is mostly due to his guidance, his play-calling, his situational awareness – and the pairing with the QB aids make him into who he is.

There's no better a more qualified person guiding you, to help you during difficult moments and boost self-belief.

I believe in the Broncos' defense, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. Yet is the team strong enough to face a top squad at its best? Because that wasn't a Super Bowl performance from Philadelphia last Sunday.

Right now, I don't think the Broncos are incredible. They're performing above average, that's a good place to be in their division. All they need to do is maintain this trajectory.

They excel at leaning into their forte, that is running the ball, and this is precisely what they must do versus the New York Jets at Tottenham. It's going to be a Dobbins-focused game, essentially.

The Jets have surrendered 140 yards on the ground per game (among the worst), five ground scores so far (10th worst), and they're the only team without a win a game.

Since the NFL began tracking takeaways in 1933, the Jets are also the inaugural squad to go without any turnovers through five games, which is kind of shocking considering that the head coach was previously defensive co-ordinator at the Detroit Lions.

Patrick Mahomes says Kansas City have 'already lost too many games' after Monday's defeat by the Jaguars.

Following the upcoming matchup, the Broncos have a manageable slate up to their bye (in week twelve) - the Giants, Dallas Cowboys, the Texans plus the Raiders before the Chiefs.

In the AFC West, the Chiefs hold a losing record while Denver are tied with the Los Angeles Chargers at 3-2 so they could challenge at leading the division.

It depends upon which form Kansas City shows up they face since Denver {beat|def
